The church

Unity is a thriving, growing community church on an estate with high social and economic needs. We have a diverse but close congregation and a large fringe of people who don't yet come to church. We run a Community Fridge, CAP Job Club and Life Skills, Community Gym and Dance, an outreach youth club and a Community Garden, all Jesus-focused and powered by prayer. We praise God for those who have come to faith through our community projects, Discovery Bible Study and Alpha.

The role

• A leader among co-equals in the leadership team
• Able to mobilise the whole church to seek God in prayer
• Help the church in its forward calling, in a flexible and creative way
• Teach, preach and share love and knowledge of God and the Bible
• Lead teams, work within teams, encourage and gently discipline when required
• Engage in outward-facing ministries serving the community
• Make disciple-makers and teach others to do the same
• Listen to and depend on God for Spirit-inspired vision and power
• Humbly love, value and listen to others

Location

Orpington, Kent (London Borough of Bromley).

Hours and salary

37.5 hours per week over at least five days, with an agreed day off each week. £35,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience.
